The Student Hotel is a brand new accommodation concept: part classic student resident and part funky design hotel for students-at-heart. We believe in providing a fun, creative and inspiring environment where residents of all ages can live, work, play and grow. To achieve this, we rely on an awesomely fun, smart and motivated team to embrace the student spirit and bring it to life.
Our company is growing FAST with new locations popping up all over the continent (Florence! Berlin! Barcelona!). The current portfolio includes nine locations with over 3700 rooms in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Paris, Barcelona, Groningen and Eindhoven. Projects in Maastricht, Florence, Bologna and Berlin are under construction. But we're also expanding our existing spots by adding super cool elements like modern, flexible co-working spaces and meeting facilities. The focus is on creating a network that spans cultural and educational backgrounds so different people can connect, learn and collaborate. Every member of The Student Hotel works with real passion and positive vibes.
Job Description
Are you eager to learn and contribute to the exciting growth of the one-of-a-kind hotel/student residence hybrid this year? The international marketing team of The Student Hotel is looking for our next super graphic design intern starting this year!
The role will blend a mix of learning opportunities and hands-on experience. As a Design Intern, you will work closely with the Art Director and marketing teams to create materials for both on- and offline.
Your responsibilities will include:Create graphics and design layouts for print ads, flyers, email newslettersCollaborate with the marketing department and support campaigns with design solutionsLearn from industry leading designers, how to apply design theory to marketing campaignsSuccessful candidates will come to the role with a strong background in graphic arts: prior experience creating graphics and a solid grasp of design conceptsComfort working in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and IllustratorEnthusiasm for the design process and attentiveness to different project goals
In addition to the day to day tasks, you will have the opportunity to take up some longer term project during your time at The Student Hotel. The position is based in Amsterdam, but may require a small amount of travel within the Netherlands. This is a fulltime internship, which will last for 6 to 12 months depending on the applicant. Lunch, coffee, fruit, snacks and beer will be provided! It's a paid internship.
Job Requirements
For this internship you must be a native (or fluent) English speaker, who is a current student and legally allowed to work in The Netherlands. We are looking for someone who is bursting with enthusiasm and who has a passion for writing and marketing.
